About Us
Established in March 2015, SGPAM is principally involved in promoting and establishing highest possible standards for safety glass products in Malaysia. In keeping with given expectations, norms and safety rules that our founding members envisioned, we strive to abide with our aims and objectives as follows: -
- To establish safety standards for safety glass in our Malaysian marketand promote improvements in the policies, laws and regulations affecting its usage.
- To support the Government and local authorities in safety glass development.
- To encourage cooperation among SGPAM members.
- To work closely with members of the local building industry for the betterment and development of safety glass usage in the built environment.
- To promote awareness, appreciation, confidence, understanding and information on matters pertaining to safety glass products and usage to both the public and members of SGPAM via seminars, trainings, media statements, advertisements and related medium.
- To facilitate exchange of knowledge and ideas among members and various stakeholders in our local building and construction industry in the safety glass sector.
- To be the reference point for safety glass products for government departments, local authorities and related agencies.
- To be the platform for networking both nationally and internationally.
- To promote and stimulate demands for safety glass usage.
- To support and provide facilities interchange with other associations carrying on similar work or with government, local authorities, educational and scientific bodies that are engaged in research and development on matters pertaining to work, theory or best practice in safety glass products.
- To arrange for strategic alliance or affiliations with other institutions, associations or societies with similar objectives to those of the association on such terms or conditions as may be to the interests of SGPAM.
We are cognizant of the need to adhere to Malaysian mandatory standards for safety glass including relevant certifications, and are morally bound to assist stakeholders to meet governmental requirements on product safety conformity. We work closely with SIRIM, Jabatan Standard Malaysia, CIDB and related government agencies to endeavor strict compliance with our Malaysian Standards (MS) and Perakuan Pematuhan Standard (PPS).
It must be acknowledged that without our six founding members, Ajiya Safety Glass Sdn Bhd, Golden Pharos Glass Sdn Bhd, Innoglass Sdn Bhd, Kien Safety Glass Sdn Bhd, Platinum Safety Glass Sdn Bhd and Topline Safety Glass (M) Sdn Bhd, SGPAM might not have been envisaged and it was largely due to their initial selfless financial support and enthusiasm that led to the inception of our association.
Finally, it is our belief and conviction that with the support of all our members we will continue to grow and support each other to face the growing demands of safety glass industry and its challenges in the years to come.
